Reformer Pilates at Pilates Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Reformer Pilates classes are fun, energizing and achievable when the participants understand how to move; sustaining core stability whilst working against the resistance of the springs and engaging global muscles to move the limbs.

When there is the ability to define the difference between core muscles and global muscles, whilst responding to the resistance of the weighted springs, a great sensation of movement with control and gained strength is achieved.

If the Reformers are used without this body awareness and understanding then the outcomes do not move in a steady upwards progression.

It is for this reason the instructors at Pilates Lifestyle and Wellbeing ask clients who wish to do group Reformer classes to complete at least 10 Mat classes prior to working with the Reformers.

These 10 classes give both the client and the instructor the knowledge and confidence that the work in the Reformer classes will be fun, progressive and valuable.

There are situations when a client is only able to work in ‘one on one’ lessons due to recovering from injury or some pathology that may inhibit mat work.

In these ‘one on one’ situations the Reformers and other large Pilates equipment used, is invaluable and often employed by our instructors.

Pilates Lifestyle and Wellbeing hold Group Reformer Classes for a maximum of 3 people from Beginners to Intermediate level.
